Who We Are
Melony began her accounting career at a local CPA firm in 2014. In 2020 she received her Enrolled Agent license and began building her own clientele. She started by only preparing returns for friends, then referrals of friends, and before she knew it, she had a list of tax clients, bookkeeping clients, and clients she helped with IRS and state audits and tax issues. Melony works ethically, honestly, and efficiently, ensuring the best course of action for her clients. She is transparent in her ability and plan of action, making sure that every client receives the outcome that was either expected or discussed.
Melony was born and raised in Florida and has spent the last 14 years on the Treasure Coast of Florida. When she is not working as an accountant, Melony volunteers with the local Humane Society, owns a Cat Café in Port St. Lucie, and is a member of the Citizen’s Advisory Committee for the City of Port St. Lucie. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.

What is an Enrolled Agent (EA)?
According to IRS.gov, an enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), are generally unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before.
IRS Enrolled Agents have undergone a certification process to earn that title. Enrolled Agents must pass all three sections of the IRS’s Special Enrollment Examination (SEE) within a two year period. The three-part exam covers, individuals, businesses, and representation, practices and procedures.
They also need to pass the IRS’s suitability check, which looks into their past tax compliance as well as any criminal history. EAs must complete 72 hours of continuing education every three years to maintain their Enrolled Agent status.
Whereas the CPA credential allows CPAs to work in non-tax related fields, the Enrolled Agent credential is specific to tax preparation and representation, so virtually all EAs are professional tax preparers.
